Charles Hardin Hussalonia

Charmingly lo-fi and thoughtfully arranged, the bulk of Charles Hardin Hussalonia is comprised of a pop combo sound. Recorded exculsively on 4 Track cassette in the late 1990s, this disc shows Hussalonia in it's formative years, unashamed of corny, pop-cliches and maudlin sympathies. Neurotic, quirky infatuation at its three-minute best. Charles Hardin Hussalonia is a love letter to the pop song convention, a subversive songwriter reveling in a guilty pleasure.

| NOTES |
Release Date: May 28, 2004 Released in 2003, but featured material recorded between 1997-1998 on Tascam 4 track cassette. Originally slated for release on cassette on the TTSCC label, but was never finished. A glimpse at Hussalonia in its formative year. A mostly bittersweet song cycle that obsesses over Buddy Holly, wondering what he'd be writing in the present day. Small traces of experimental nonsense. The first half of the CD was written and recorded in 1997 in 8 consecutive days: a song a day. The second half was recorded sporadically throughout 1998. |
